19-year-old aspiring actress Nishat Ara Alvida, who had her sights set on a vibrant career in the entertainment industry, tragically passed away on Thursday, August 31, at 8 am. Mohammad Hridoy, a close friend of Nishat’s, confirmed the devastating news to the media. He also provided insight into her last few days, detailing how she had contracted dengue fever just four days prior to her death.

Initially, even after receiving immediate first aid, Nishat had to be hospitalized due to a rapid decline in her platelet levels. However, there was a glimmer of hope when her platelet levels started to rise again within a day of hospitalization. Consequently, she was discharged and returned home, where she was in regular communication with Hridoy. They even spoke on Wednesday night, the eve of her untimely demise. Despite the seriousness of dengue fever, Nishat downplayed her condition.
According to Hridoy, she was optimistic that medication would cure her and didn’t place much significance on her fever. This made the news of her death all the more shocking for those who knew her, as she had even been active on social media platforms like Facebook until the end.
Nishat Ara Alvida was a student preparing for her Higher Secondary examinations and had dreams that extended far beyond academia. Just two days before her passing, she was in high spirits, contemplating the life ahead of her. She had aspirations to be with her friends and to recover quickly from her ailment. Born and raised in the Natore district of Bangladesh, Nishat had completed her Secondary School Certificate (SSC) there before getting admitted to a college in the same region. Eventually, she moved to Dhaka where she lived with her mother. Relocating to Dhaka was part of her desire to forge her own path. She was steadfast in her ambition to make a name for herself in acting.

Hridoy revealed that Nishat often spoke about her dreams of becoming not just an actress but a “very big actress.” She had a particular interest in theater acting and wanted to hone her skills in that domain. Her untimely death cut short not only a life full of promise but also a burgeoning career that could have been.
After her passing, Nishat’s body was transported back to her native Natore and she was laid to rest in a cemetery there. The tragic event has left her family, friends, and those who knew of her aspirations in a state of deep mourning.
