NEW DELHI: Home minister Amit Shah, who on Friday reviewed the functioning of Multi Agency Centre (MAC), the nerve-centre within Intelligence Bureau that tackles internal security challenges, stressed on the need to stay “one step ahead” while responding to new and emerging threats and called for constitution of a team of young, technically proficient and passionate officers from all agencies engaged in national security to dismantle the terror ecosystem using big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning and other technological advancements.
At the review attended by heads of various security and law enforcement agencies, Shah said the MAC framework, under the leadership of PM Modi, was poised to undergo a major technical and operational revamp to increase its reach and effectiveness. He exhorted all stakeholders to bolster these efforts through prompt responses and aggressive follow-up of shared inputs.
Shah instructed them to adopt a whole-of-the-govt approach towards national security and ensure that all agencies work with greater synergy to dismantle terror and its supporting ecosystem and address the evolving security threat scenario of the country.
While reviewing internal security situation in the country and fight against terrorism, Shah asked the participants to increase engagement in MAC and make it into a cohesive platform that brings together all law enforcement agencies, anti-drug agencies, cyber security and intelligence agencies, for decisive and prompt action.
