NEW DELHI: After winning the T20I series against Sri Lanka 3-0, the Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, is gearing up for the ODI series in Colombo starting from Friday.
Rohit, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer reached Sri Lanka on Sunday and on Wednesday all had practice sessions gearing up for the ODIs.
On Thursday, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) shared a video from the training session on their official X handle.
The video showed the Indian cricketers hitting the nets under the watchful eyes of head coach Gautam Gambhir.
The video starts with Virat, KL Rahul and Rohit entering the ground and Virat smashing Kuldeep Yadav for a big shot straight down the ground, as Gambhir looks on.
The video also shows Harshit Rana bowling to Rohit and Rahul, with Gambhir having a good look on the newcomer.
Before going for some fielding drills, the video also shows Shreyas Iyer rolling his arms over.
Both Iyer and Kuldeep can be seen practicing one-handed catches in the video, with Virat showing trademark lightning-quick energy with his arm pickup and throw.
The video ends with Rohit having a few words with Gambhir, most probably deciding on the team combinations.
