Paresh Mokashi‘s thriller-comedyVaalvi‘ starring Swwapnil Joshi has bagged the Best Marathi Feature Film award at the 70th National Film Awards. The winners of the 70th National Awards were announced on Friday afternoon in New Delhi.
In an exclusive chat with ETimes, Swwapnil Joshi said, “I am so blessed to be part of the film, and a big thank you to my director, Paresh Mokashi, and the entire team for making me part of this project.This is my first-ever Marathi film that has won a National Award.”
“I am very overwhelmed by the reactions that I am getting, and it is unprecedented. It was a big surprise for my audience and my family when this film was released. Secondly, I wanted to work with director Paresh Mokashi for a long time. I want to thank our entire team of ‘Vaalvi’ for their support and hard work.” Swwapnil added.
‘Vaalvi’ revolves around a dysfunctional married couple, along with a dentist and a psychiatrist, who become entangled in a crime mishap that triggers a series of shocking twists.
Recently, on the occasion of Paresh’s birthday, the film’s team announced that a sequel to ‘Vaalvi’ will go on the floors soon. The makers shared a video on Instagram where he shared that ‘Vaalvi 2’ is in the making.
The film also stars Anita Date-Kelkar, Subodh Bhave, Shivani Surve, and Namrata Sambherao in pivotal roles.
