PRAYAGRAJ: An FIR was registered against a BJP functionary, Raees Chandra Shukla, and 31 others after he allegedly used a JCB machine to demolish a “disputed property” in Ghurpur area of Prayagraj.
The FIR, filed on a complaint by one Abhishek Tripathi, said the accused not only demolished a portion of his house, but also forcibly took away the goods. ACP Vivek Kumar Yadav said further legal action would be taken after the investigation.
Shukla, on the other hand, claimed his family had given Rs 1.68 crore to Tripathi as a loan, and when he started exerting pressure to get his money back, a fake case was filed against him.
Tripathi in his complaint said his land and house were in dispute with Shukla, his son Sandeep and five others, and the matter was in the court. The complainant alleged that on Sept 1, Shukla threatened to kill him if he did not give up the possession of the house.
Tripathi alleged that on Thursday (Sept 5) evening, dozens of people arrived with a JCB and demolished his house. Shukla had contested the 2022 assembly elections from Allahabad South on a Samajwadi Party ticket, but was defeated by BJP’s Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi. His entry into BJP later was opposed by Nandi.
