JODHPUR: Maha aarti on the occasion of the grand installation ceremony of Lord Rama’s idol at Rama temple in Ayodhya will have ghee (clarified butter) from Jodhpur. About 600kg ghee will be sent to Ram Temple in Ayodhya in January next year.
108 urns carrying this ghee were despatched on 11 specially prepared chariots on Monday on the auspicious day of Dev Diwali from Shri Shri Maharish Sandipani Ram Dharma Gaushala here amid laud chanting of ‘Jai Shree Ram”.
Head of the gaushala Sandipani maharaj, who accompanied the chariots, said that 600kg ghee prepared in the gaushala will be used in the aarti and hawan during consecration ceremony of Lord Ram at the temple in Ayodhya.
“Eleven special chariots were dispatched from the gaushala on Monday. These chariots have been under preparation in the gaushala for past six months. Each chariot incurred a cost of Rs 3.5 lakh. They contain 108 steel kalash, holding total 600kg ghee. This ghee, specifically prepared for the first aarti and hawan of Ram Lalla, has been meticulously prearted and collected over nine years,” he said.
Initially, the plan was to have one grand chariot with a single kalash, thereby having 108 chariots each for one urn. The aspiration was to have 108 chariots in all.
“But due to time constraints, and with elections falling in between, we prepared 11 chariots with 97 symbolic chariots. All these 97 chariots have been placed on 11 chariots,” he said.
Sandipani had taken a resolution long back that the ghee prepared at the gaushala will be taken to the Ram temple in Ayodhya and this resolution was further strengthened with the construction of the temple.
VHP office bearer Mahendra Singh Rajpurohit said that a team from Jodhpur met the officials of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Trust apprising them of the resolution of maharaj. A team from the trust visited the gaushala and checked the ghee.
