NEW DELHI/BADAUN (UP): Angry about not receiving freshly prepared rotis at a wedding, certain guests reportedly inflicted harm on the cook by pouring boiling oil on him.
The cook was urgently taken to the hospital, sustaining severe burn injuries, as stated by the police on Thursday.
The occurrence transpired as Indrapal Pali, the groom’s uncle, along with a few others, sat down for dinner at Pannalal’s daughter’s wedding in the Moosajhag police station area in Budaun district of Uttar Pradesh late on Wednesday night.
They requested hot rotis during the meal.
They were informed that fulfilling the request was impractical due to the late hour, and the tandoor had already been extinguished, as per statements from witnesses, as reported by the police.
Frustrated by the denial, Indrapal and three companions approached the area where the cook was actively preparing for the upcoming feast.
In an act of aggression, they poured hot oil on him before swiftly fleeing the scene.
The cook, identified as Rajesh, was admitted to a private hospital, and reports indicate that his condition is critical.
Station house officer Mahendra Pal Singh stated that a case has been registered in connection with the incident, and efforts are underway to apprehend the accused individuals soon.
