NAGPUR: The 15-month-old girl who was revived in mid-flight by a team of five doctors from AIIMS Delhi, passed away at 3.15am on Thursday.
After the emergency landing of the Bengaluru-Delhi flight on Sunday night in Nagpur, the child of a Bangladeshi couple was taken to a local hospital where she had been undergoing treatment for the past three days.
According to a press release issued by the Nagpur hospital, in post-resuscitation status, the child suffered from several complications, including cardiac failure. The child had a complex congenital heart disease and had undergone surgery at Narayana Health in Bengaluru.
Sources said that the family is expected to fly back on Friday with the mortal remains. The formalities have been completed and a letter facilitating their travel was received from the Bangladesh embassy. The family would be first flying to Delhi and then to Sylhet in Bangladesh.
The child’s parents were counselled regularly on the fate of the child as she started developing multi-organ failure one by one, said the statement issued by the hospital.
