SECUNDERABAD: Amidst the echoes of Jai Sri Ram, a jubilant community in Picket of Secunderabad Cantonment, has seen off a vehicle carrying a hefty 1,265 kg laddu bound for Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir. Prepared by a dedicated team, this substantial sweet delight is embarking on a 1,300-kilometer road trip to mark the upcoming inauguration of the Ram Mandir on January 22.
Crafted with care by 30 individuals working round the clock , the journey is not just a transportation of a sweet treat but a symbol of community spirit and devotion, said the donors Chandan Kumar Reddy and Nagabhushan Reddy.
Upon its arrival in Ayodhya on January 21, the laddu will be handed over to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, who will distribute it to the devotees visiting the inauguration. Notably, a refrigerated glass box ensures the laddu’s freshness for at least 15 days.
Despite the initial plan to place the jumbo laddu before the idol inside the sanctum sanctorum of Ram Mandir, space constraints led to the creation of four smaller laddus, weighing 2 kgs. These offerings will find their place in front of the Sri Ram idol.
The flagged-off event, attended by about 100 locals, featured an adorned vehicle, floral decorations, and a ceremonial pooja dedicated to Lord Sri Ram’s portrait, creating a heart-warming send-off for this sweet journey.
