NEW DELHI: Police in northern Afghanistan received reports of a plane crash in the remote and mountainous region of Badakhshan, on Sunday.
According to Russian Aviation Authorities, a Russian-registered plane, identified as a French-made Dassault Falcon 10 jet, disappeared from radar screens over Afghanistan on Saturday evening. The aircraft, reportedly carrying six individuals, was on a charter flight from India, transiting via Uzbekistan to its final destination in Moscow, as reported by Reuters.
The local police spokesperson in a statement said that the crash had taken place overnight in a remote, mountainous region of Badakhshan in Afghanistan’s far north.
Police have not confirmed details about the cause of the crash or the casualties.
