HYDERABAD : A city resident found a live worm crawling inside the Cadbury chocolate which he had purchased from a store at Ameerpet Metro.
On February 9, Robin Zaccheus, a social activist tweeted, “Found a worm crawling in the cadbury chocolate. Is there a quality check for these near to expiry products. Who is responsible for public health hazards?”

Following the post, food safety officials inspected the store and lifted about 20 samples of the chocolate and the company was instructed to recall all the products bearing the same batch number.The officials also destroyed some of the chocolates.
Responding to the incident, Cadbury stated, “Hi, Mondelez India food private limited (formerly Cadbury India) endeavours to maintain the highest quality standards and we regret to note for having had an unpleasant experience with the customer.”
