First let’s compare the variants and pricing, the Hero Mavrick 440 will be available in three variants – Base, Mid and Top priced at Rs 1.99 lakh, 2.14 lakh and 2.24 lakh respectively (all prices Ex-showroom).The Harley-Davidson X440 too is available in three variants – Denim, Vivid and S priced at Rs 2.29 lakh, 2.49 lakh and 2.69 lakh respectively (all prices Ex-showroom).
Comparing the colour options, the Mavrick is available in five colour options, the base variant gets spoke wheels and will be available in a single Arctic White colour. The Mid variant features alloy wheels and will be available in two colour options – Celestial Blue and Fearless Red. The Top variant gets machined alloys and will be offered with Phantom Black and Enigma Black colour options. Talking about the Harley-Davidson X440, the Denim variant is available in Mustard Yellow, the Vivid variant can be had in either Metallic Thick Red or Metallic Dark Silver and the top-spec S variant only gets a stealthy Matte Black colour option.
In terms of design, the Harley-Davidson X440 takes inspiration from bigger Harley bikes like the Nightster or the V-Rod. It features broad shoulders, wide handlebars and butch lines with a big fuel tank and large clean side panels. The seat is made up of a single-piece unit and the rear isn’t really aesthetically pleasing.
The Hero Mavrick features a round LED projector headlamp with H-shaped DRLs. It gets muscular styling with a sculpted fuel tank and extended shrouds. At the rear, it gets a stubby tail section with LED taillights and it features a scooped-out, single-piece seat setup.
Talking about the suspension and braking, Both motorcycles share the same frame but get different suspension setups. The Harley gets more premium suspension, with 43mm KYB upside-down forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The Hero Mavrick 440, on the other hand, gets 43 mm telescopic front forks with 7-step twin shock absorbers at the rear.
The Harley gets 18-inch front and 17-inch rear tyres. The Mavrick gets 17-inch wheels on both ends. Talking about the brakes, both bikes get a 320mm single disc up front with a twin-pot calliper, while the rear uses a smaller 240mm disc with a single-piston calliper.
In terms of features, the Mavrick gets all LED lighting, a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call and message alerts, a USB-C charging port, and a slipper clutch. The Harley too packs in all the features mentioned in the Mavrick, but here the bike gets much premium colour TFT display as opposed to the simpler, LCD unit on the Mavrick.

As mentioned previously, both Mavrick 440 and Harley-Davidson X440 are based on the same platform and get the same oil-cooled engine. It’s a 440 cc, single cylinder engine which puts out 27bhp at 6,000rpm but and 38Nm at 4,000rpm. The same engine has puts out 27 hp of power and lesser 36 Nm of torque.
