Shivajinagar Congress MLA Rizwan Arshad urged PM Modi to consider action over reported atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, citing Indira Gandhi’s 1971 move

BENGALURU: Concerned over reported atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, Rizwan Arshad, Shivajinagar Congress MLA, urged PM Narendra Modi not to hesitate to take decisive military action like former PM Indira Gandhi did in 1971.
In a letter, he appealed to Modi to not only address concerns of minorities in Bangladesh but also in India, who have been under “constant attack both economically and socially by the right wing”.
On the atrocities in Bangladesh, he said: “If these reports are true, given the historical and cultural ties between India and Bangladesh, it is imperative that India takes a ‘proactive stance’ in addressing these issues.”
Seer concerned too
Senior seer of Udupi Pejavar Mutt, Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji, also raised concerns over the escalating violence and urged greater awareness and spiritual intervention to end hate crimes in the neighbouring country.
In a video message, the seer condemned the worsening conditions faced by Hindus, not only in Bangladesh but also in India. He said Hindus must confront these challenges and turn to prayer as a means of fostering global peace.
