TIRUPATI: Andhra Pradesh BJP chief and former Union minister, Daggubati Purandeswari, made startling allegations, stating that the liquor situation in Andhra Pradesh, claiming approximately two-three lakh lives annually, is more perilous than a nuclear bomb.
Purandeswari emphasized the alarming daily death toll, attributing at least 700-1000 deaths per day to alcohol consumption in the state.
She declared liquor as a dangerous weapon, surpassing the potency of an atom bomb, accusing the ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) of unleashing this menace on the people. Purandeswari labeled it as an act of terrorism, questioning the moral right of the YSRCP to continue in office.
Backing her claims, BJP Rajya Sabha MP CM Ramesh alleged the existence of three different treasuries in operation within the state. Ramesh accused the YSRCP of diverting funds to the Andhra Pradesh state treasury, the J-treasury, and the Peddireddy treasury.
