A bus believed to be carrying multiple children has collided with a car on Sydney’s Anzac Bridge, sparking significant traffic issues.
NSW Police have confirmed there were “no injuries” suffered in the incident, which occurred at about 9.20am on Wednesday.
According to 9 News there were 30 students on board the bus, while one patient, believed to be the driver of the car, was assessed by first responders at the scene.
Two of the four eastbound lanes were closed, reopening about 20 minutes later.
There have since been reports that the backed up traffic caused by the incident stretched on for kilometres.
While the collision “caused a bit of disruption”, both vehicles have since moved on from the scene.
At about 9.30 Live Traffic Sydney warned motorists “heavy traffic (was) building” and to “expect delays and exercise care”.
Approximately one hour later a similar warning was cautioned to commuters, despite all citybound lanes approaching the Anzac Bridge having reopened.
“Traffic is heavy so continue to allow extra travel time until volumes ease,” Live Traffic Sydney posted to social media.
