An army jawan died of a bullet injury after his service weapon went off accidentally in Jammu & Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Monday, police said.
“Lance Naik Balvir Singh of Akalgarh, Raikot, in Ludhiana, deployed near the Anti-Infiltration Obstacle System (AIOS) along the Line of Control (LoC), was hit by a bullet after his service rifle went off accidentally in Nowshera sector,” police said.
“The Army jawan died on the spot and his body has been shifted to an Army hospital for medico-legal formalities. All necessary legal formalities have begun and investigation into the matter is on,” police said.
