Three people have been rushed to hospital after a horror stabbing at an Australian University.

Police and paramedics were called to the Australian National University (ANU) at 2:45pm on Monday after hearing reports of a stabbing.

“Three people have been transported to hospital, two with stab wounds and a third person who was allegedly assaulted,” an ACT Police spokesperson said.

One person is in custody over the incident and police are not looking for anyone else in connection to it.

ANU are urging students to stay away from Fellows Oval and Chiefly Meadow which are “active scenes of investigation”.

The university also encourages anyone who may have witnessed the event who has not already spoken to ACT Police to attend a police station to assist the investigation.

“We are reminding everyone that support services are available to help anyone in the ANU Community,” the spokesperson said.

More to come.
