LUCKNOW: The newly built Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya handled 123 flights, including 101 chartered flights, over two days during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at Ram Temple on January 22.
The Ayodhya airport, which on average handles 380 passengers daily since its inauguration on December 30 last year, welcomed 4,500 guests, including 350 VIPs, on Jan 21 and 22.Speaking to TOI, DIG Shrikant Kishore, the CPRO of CISF, said: “On Jan 21, we handled passengers of 42 flights, including 32 chartered and 10 scheduled movements. On the day of the consecration ceremony, passengers of 12 scheduled and 69 chartered flights were assisted.”
