LUCKNOW: Eight townships and 15 private hotels have already been sanctioned in the temple town of Ayodhya.
Reviewing the status of big ticket projects being executed by the private players the state housing department evaluated the status of the allotment made to entrepreneurs and businessmen who took plots spanning over an area of at least 1,000 sq mt.
The 23 big ticket projects are expected to generate private investments amounting to Rs 4,500 crore.“Some of them would be ready within the next two years, while the big ones are being done in phases and would take longer duration for completion,” said additional chief secretary of the housing and urban planning department Nitin Ramesh Gokarn.
The largest private township is being developed over 59,000 sqmt in the temple town and Mumbai based developer has secured the approval from the local development authority. Similarly, real estate companies from Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Agra have taken 30,000 sqmt, 25,000 sqmt, 18,000 sqmt and 3,000 sqmt respectively to set up townships.
The continuous push of the state and the Central governments to provide a complete makeover to the temple town and improve its urban infrastructure has attracted scores of established private players to the city. “We have set up a team of five officials to fast track applications of individuals who are keen on taking land parcels measuring 1,000 sqmt or more. The team arranges multiple site visits as per their requirement and shows them the land under authority’s possession. Maximum deals have been signed over the past one year,” said vice-chairman of the Ayodhya Development Authority Vishal Singh.
Similarly hospitality players from Uttar Pradesh and other parts of the country have taken 1,450 sqmt to 29,000 sqmt of land to set up plus hotels, resorts and mixed-use projects.
To gear up for tourists who would gather in the city after the launch of the Ram temple, the tourist department and development authority have identified 350 properties which could be turned into homestays. Among them 140 homestays are already operational and can be booked online.

The e-waste, including old television sets, LCD TVs, and refrigerators, is collected with the help of RWAs and educational institutes. The collected waste is sent to processing units for recycling. The private company responsible for collection transports the e-waste to CPCB-approved recyclers in Noida, Gurgaon, and Delhi. The initiative has been beneficial for residents who lack time to visit e-waste centers.

Ayodhya airport to be completed by December-end; first section of bullet train project in 3 years: Jyotiraditya Scindia
Construction of the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya will be completed by December-end, according to Union Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia. The government is focused on airport development, with a Rs 95,000 crore capex plan. The first section of the bullet train project is expected to start in three years. Scindia is closely monitoring the Ayodhya airport project and assured that it will be ready by the end of this month, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating it. Furthermore, the Navi Mumbai and Jewar airports will be operational by the end of next year.

Rajasthan assembly election result: Sachin Pilot wins Tonk seat by over 29,000 votes
Sachin Pilot, former Rajasthan deputy chief minister and Congress leader, won the Tonk assembly seat by over 29,000 votes, defeating Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate Ajit Singh Mehta. In the 2018 assembly polls, Pilot had defeated Yoonus Khan with a massive margin of 54,179 votes on the same seat. Ashok Bairwa, the Bahujan Samaj Party candidate, extended support to Pilot in the upcoming Assembly election. Additionally, 1,479 people from the constituency opted for NOTA.
