The BCCI selectors are likely to name India’s squad on Friday for the remaining three Tests of the home series against England, with the focus on managing Jasprit Bumrah‘s workload and the status of KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja‘s recovery from injuries that ruled both out of the second Test.
According to Cricbuzz, the selection committee’s meeting, which was originally scheduled for Thursday, will now be held on Friday.

The report further read that one of the key points of discussion in the meeting is going to be the management of workload for bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who became world’s No. 1 Test bowler after his match-winning performance in the second Test in Visakhapatnam.

The five-match series is now locked at 1-1.
The possibility of Mohammed Siraj being brought in to replace Bumrah is reportedly being re-evaluated considering the role vice-captain Bumrah has played in bringing India back in the series after losing the opening Test. It, thus, remains to be seen if he is rested or continues to be part of the squad for at least the next Test in Rajkot.

Regarding update on the recovery status of Rahul and Jadeja, Rahul is looking good to return to the squad while “Jadeja’s potential inclusion hinges on the assessment of his hamstring injury by the team management,” said the Cricbuzz report.
However, the squad will, in all likelihood, continue to miss Virat Kohli, who had earlier withdrawn himself from the first two Tests because of personal reasons.
