ALWAR: In the quaint village of Sahajpura, nestled in Kherli area of Alwar district, a connection to the enigmatic Baba Surajpal Jatav, also known as Narayan Sarkar Hari alias Bhole Baba, has come to light.
During the tumultuous times of Covid pandemic, Baba sought refuge in an ashram here for approximately 10 months, during which regular satsangs were conducted, drawing thousands of fervent devotees from far and wide.
Deviram, a villager who sold the land for the ashram, has accused the Baba of forcibly occupying additional land where his followers’ room now stands. He claims to have sold approximately one and a half bighas of land to the Baba’s committee around 2008-09, following which the construction of the ashram commenced in 2010. Since then, the ashram has played host to numerous satsangs, drawing devotees from various corners.The villagers of Sahajpura, however, have levelled accusations against the Baba, alleging that the local populace was denied entry into the ashram, while women and girls were granted unfettered access. The ashram’s doors were reportedly open to outsiders and women, raising suspicions among the residents.
In the wake of tragic stampede that occurred during a satsang in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, claiming the lives of 122 people, Bhole Baba has been eluding the authorities. However, his ties to the Alwar district have now been brought to the forefront.

The Baba’s ashram, sprawling across approximately 1.5 bigha of land in Sahajpura village, has been the site of numerous satsang events, attracting throngs of devotees in the past.
The villagers of Sahajpur hold the Baba accountable for the devastating loss of 122 lives in Hathras and demand his immediate arrest and incarceration.
