BHUBANESWAR: Angered by the constant barking of a pet dog, a man allegedly disrobed the pet’s owner and molested her on the road in broad daylight, here on Thursday. The man also allegedly attacked the animal with a sharp-edged weapon, seriously injuring it.
In her complaint with Capital Police Station, the 23-year-old woman sought the immediate arrest of the accused. In her complaint, the woman alleged, “Chandan Nayak and his father Tuna started shouting outside our home in the afternoon. When I went to inquire, Chandan hurled abuses at me and asked me to silence our pet dog. When I said that it was not possible, Chandan dragged me out on to the road, tore my clothes and disrobed me. He sexually assaulted me and was helped by his father. He attempted to rape me.”
She claimed Chandan also attacked the dog and pierced the animal’s private parts with an iron rod.
“We have received her complaint and would initiate legal action,” Padmanav Pradhan, inspector-in-charge of Capital Police Station, told TOI.
