NEW DELHI: SpiceJet received a bomb threat call on Wednesday for its Darbhanga-Delhi flight. However, the threat turned out to be a hoax, and the aircraft landed safely at Delhi airport, according to officials.
The airline’s spokesperson stated, “A call was received at the SpiceJet reservation office about a bomb in the aircraft operating flight SG 8946 from Darbhanga to Delhi. The flight landed safely at Delhi airport at 6pm and the aircraft was moved to an isolated bay.”
After conducting an inquiry, Delhi police confirmed that the threat was bogus. The airline assured that all passengers were safely deplaned, and security agencies are currently conducting a thorough search of the aircraft.
