AGRA: A wedding feast in Agra turned into a free-for-all with plates and spoons used as weapons after an argument broke out between guests trying to get rasgullas. Six people, including a woman, were injured in the brawl. The incident took place in Gopalpura locality under Shamshabad police station jurisdiction on Sunday evening.
SHO Anil Sharma said, “There was a wedding at Shiblu Kushwaha’s home.Investigations revealed the fight broke out when two groups were jostling for rasgullas.”
The groups attacked each other with plates, spoons and later sticks. Police broke up the fight and took Bhagwan Devi, Yogesh, Manoj, Kailash, Dharmendra and Pawan to hospital. “On the basis of a complaint received from Gaurishankar Sharma, whose four family members were injured in the fight, an FIR was registered under IPC section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 5d06 (criminal intimidation),” the officer said.
Fatehabad ACP Anand Kumar Pandey said, “Those who were injured are undergoing treatment and are out of danger.”
Last year in October, a 22-year-old man was killed and five injured after a fight erupted at a wedding ceremony over shortage of rasgullas in Agra district.
