NEW DELHI: BSP has fielded Majid Ali from Saharanpur, dropping its winner Haji Fazlur Rahman and Vijyendra Singh from Bijnor, ignoring Malook Nagar who had won the seat for BSP in 2019. Similarly, Mozahid Hussain has been fielded from Amroha as the party sacked its MP Kunwar Danish Ali, who is now a Congress candidate from the same seat.
Among other candidates, Shripal Singh has been fielded from Kairana, Dara Singh Prajapati from Muzaffarnagar, and Mohammad Irfan Saifi from Moradabad.From Rampur, it has given tickets to Zishan Khan, Shaukat Ali from Sambhal, Devvrat Tyagi from Meerut and Praveen Bansal from Baghpat.
Rajendra Singh Solanki from Gautam Budh Nagar, Abid Ali from Aonla, Anis Ahmad Khan alias Phool Babu from Pilibhit and Dodaram Verma from Shahjahanpur (SC) complete BSP’s first list.
While the first list had 16 candidates, the party released another list later on Sunday evening, with nine more names. It included Sarika Singh Baghel, who had become the youngest woman MP in 2009 Lok Sabha elections which she contested from Hathras on RLD’s ticket, from Etawah reserved seat. She has been associated with both SP and BJP. The other woman candidate, Puja Amrohi, is the daughter of prominent Congress leader Satya Behan, who was a Rajya Sabha member from UP. She has been fielded from Agra.
