NEW DELHI: The CBI has filed a chargesheet against Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the excise policy case.
The central agency filed the chargesheet before a special CBI court at Rouse Avenue.
Kejriwal is currently under the judicial custody till August 8 in the case.
This development comes just before the Delhi high court is set to consider CM Kejriwal’s bail plea on Monday.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken a notable step by filing a prosecution complaint in the money laundering case, which includes the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its national convenor Arvind Kejriwal as accused.
Earlier this month, the Supreme Court had granted interim bail to Kejriwal on July 12 in the money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) concerning the now-scrapped liquor policy. Despite this ruling, Kejriwal was unable to leave jail due to his arrest by the CBI.
