Shocking footage has emerged after a home was set ablaze in a firebombing attack at a popular seaside suburb south of Adelaide.
Emergency services were called to an Aldinga Beach property shortly after 9pm on Monday after reports a molotov cocktail had been thrown at the home.
The fire spread to the two-storey home and caused extensive damage totalling an estimated $300,000, including to the roof that gave way as fireys battled the blaze.
The occupants of the home were not present at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported, with police and fire cause investigators now investigating the incident.
In video obtained by Nine, what appears to be two people can be seen lobbing the lit cocktails, while in a later video the apparent occupant can be heard as the home burns.
“The thing is, they (the culprits) didn’t know that I wasn’t (in the home),” the woman said to firefighters outside the house, adding, “There’s my house. Proper f**ked.”
In a statement, the SA Country Fire Service said about 15 firefighters in three trucks attended the scene, alongside a bulk water carrier, ambulance crews and power experts.
Firefighters remained on-site on Monday evening, extinguishing hotspots and mopping up afterwards.
Police have called on anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the street or has any other information that may assist the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers.
