Queensland Police and Queensland Ambulance were called to the Toowong exit in Brisbane’s riverside area following the multi-vehicle crash.

Drivers travelling to the CBD via the Western Freeway were advised by police to avoid the area near Mt Coot-tha.

Delays stretched up to an hour and 20 minutes, with traffic backed up for 10km along the busy motorway.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said two patients were assessed at the scene. One declined further assistance from paramedics, and the other person was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
