RAIPUR: A fortnight after cabinet formation, Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday allocated portfolios to his 12 ministers but retained crucial mining, excise and public relations department with him. Chief minister will also hold the portfolios of Energy, commercial tax (excise), transport departments and others that’s not allotted to any other minister.
The home portfolio was allocated to one of his deputies Vijay Sharma along with Panchayat and rural development, technical education and employment, Science and Technology departments.Another deputy CM Arun Sao was given the charges of public works department, PhE, urban administration and law and legislative affairs departments.
IAS turned minister OP Choudhary will be the minister for finance along with planning, economics and statistics and housing and environment and commercial taxes.
Senior minister Brijmohan Agrawal will hold departments of school and higher education, parliamentary affairs, religious trusts and endowments, tourism and culture.
Another senior tribal minister Ram Vichar Netam has been entrusted with the department of scheduled tribe and scheduled caste, other backward class and minority development, agricultural development and farmer welfare.
Minister Dayal Das Baghel will hold department of food, civil supplies and consumer protection while tribal minister from Bastar Kedar Kashyap will look after forest and climate change, water resources, skill development and cooperatives.
Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan has got the departments of commerce and industry and labour while public health and family welfare, medical education, twenty point implementation programme has been allocated to minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal.
The lone and youngest woman minister Laxmi Rajwade has been allotted women and child development and social welfare departments and Tank Ram Verma will look after sports and youth welfare, revenue and disaster management departments.
