Crown Resorts will be allowed to continue operating Melbourne’s Crown Casino, with the Victorian regulator finding it suitable to retain its gaming licence.

But Victoria’s Gambling and Casino Control Commissioner Fran Thorn has put the gambling giant on notice that it must toe the line.

“The Commission today announced that it is clearly satisfied the Crown Holding is suitable to operate the Melbourne Crown Casino and that it is in the public interest for the licensee to remain,” Ms Thorn said on Tuesday.

Crown’s suitability to hold the licence had been under review amid allegations of money launderng and organised crime that led to two royal commissions and a state inquiry.

“Today, the commission is satisfied the systemic failings at Crown Melbourne are a thing of the past,” Ms Thorn said.

“We are determined Crown is not and will never be too big to fail,”

She also revealed a number of options available to the commission if Crown commits further breaches in the future.
