The billionaire, who has fully rooted for Trump to win the presidency, said on X, “Wow, Google has a search ban on President Donald Trump! Election interference?

Google users on Monday searching for information about the July 13 assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump were surprised to find that the search engine’s autocomplete feature did not include results about the event.Instead, users were shown results related to other historical assassination attempts, such as those on Ronald Reagan, Archduke Ferdinand, Bob Marley, and Gerald Ford.
This omission caused an outcry on social media, with Donald Trump Jr. accusing Google of election interference to benefit Kamala Harris. He condemned the tech giant for what he called “intentional election interference.”
In response, a Google spokesperson told Fox News that no “manual actions” were taken to influence search predictions. They explained that their systems have built-in protections against autocomplete suggestions related to political violence, which were functioning as intended during this incident
Our systems have protections against Autocomplete predictions associated with political violence, which were working as intended prior to this horrific event occurring,” Fox news quoted the spokesperson as saying.
The company spokesperson defended the autocomplete feature, stating that it is designed to “help people save time” while still allowing users to search for anything they wish. They added that, despite the recent incident, Google remains committed to providing users with high-quality information and connecting them with helpful results.
