A police operation is underway with multiple units responding to an incident in Sydney’s CBD.
A major emergency response rushed to the NSW Police headquarters on Elizabeth Street in the city shortly after 1pm.
Images show multiple police units at the scene, where an ambulance crew with a stretcher and the riot squad were also pictured.
The building, located at 201 Elizabeth Street, has been roped off with dozens of police on the scene.
Officers are also standing guard at the building’s entrance.
NCA NewsWire understands a member of the public may have sparked the response with a protest, but the situation is still unfolding.
No one has been injured.
“A police operation is underway at a building on Elizabeth Street, Sydney,” NSW Police confirmed.
However, police have said there is no apparent risk to the public.
