We hear that Kushi Kapoor, daughter of legendary actress Sridevi and well-known producer Boney Kapoor, who has produced films like Valimai and Thunivu in Tamil, will be making her Tamil debut soon. The actress, we hear, will be starring in a film that will have music composed by hotshot composer Anirudh Ravichander, and will be paired opposite Atharvaa.
A source close to the development tells us, “Kushi will be playing the female lead in a film directed by debutant Akash, an associate of Vignesh Shivan. Atharvaa will be the male lead in this project, which is going to be bankrolled by Lyca Productions. This will be a grand film, and the makers are planning to shoot it almost entirely in the US. This will be the biggest budgeted film in Atharvaa’s career till date.”
Kushi is currently awaiting the release of her debut acting venture, the OTT film The Archies, directed by Zoya Akhtar. She is also rumoured to be starring in the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Love Today.
Earlier this year, in February, there were reports of Kushi’s sister and Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor making her entry in Tamil cinema, in a film that was said to be directed by commercial filmmaker Lingusamy, which would be a sequel to his hit Paiyya. However, their father, Boney Kapoor, had categorically denied them and tweeted, “Dear Media Friends, This is to bring to your notice that Janhvi Kapoor has not committed to any Tamil Films at the moment, requesting not to spread false rumors.”
