JAISALMER: Israeli tourists in Jaisalmer are leaving with the aim of returning to their country to fight against Hamas or to be there for their families and friends in this time of crisis.
Khannan, 47, and Laila, 45, who came to India with their four children from Jerusalem, are staying in a hotel in Jaisalmer but are leaving for Delhi soon to find a way back to Israel. Khannan said that there were no flights to Israel but they were trying to reach there somehow as their country needed them. Khannan said he works as an economic and political researcher with the Israeli government while his wife works as a manager at Jerusalem’s municipal body.
Khannan said that they came to India in the second week of September and reached Jaisalmer after visiting Delhi and Pushkar. They wanted to spend a long time in India but now they wished to go back immediately, he said. The family plans to go to Delhi to catch a flight to some country from where there is possible to reach Israel. tnn
