NEW DELHI: Under scanner for shifting from computer-based test to pen-paper mode, the re-test for UGC-NET is back to its old format, reports Manash Gohain. The exams are slated between August 21 and Sept 4, where all 83 papers will be delivered in CBT mode.
National Testing Agency Friday announced the new dates. Information about the city of the student’s exam centre will be provided through the NTA website ten days prior to the exam.
Earlier, the exam held on June 18 was cancelled due to fear of irregularities. UGC-NET is conducted for the appointment of assistant professor and junior research fellowship in universities and colleges. Admission to PhD courses in varsities and higher education institutions, too, is now done on the basis of UGC-NET score.
NTA has released the subject-wise schedule of the exam on its website. Some 11.2 lakh students had registered for the exam and 9 lakh candidates appeared for the examination in June.
