NEW DELHI: Locals in Pakistan have praised India’s efforts for successfully hosting the G20 summit which concluded in New Delhi last week.
“India has taken a good step. This is a proud moment for Indians,” one of the locals told news agency ANI.
“When heads of the top 20 countries visit the country, it is an honour for the country. Indian economy will get many benefits from it,” another said.
The recently concluded G20 summit brought the world together on wide range of issues i.e. economics, geopolitics or technology.
Another Pakistani resident added that when such a big conference takes place, it shows that the country is making progress.
“The ruler of Saudi Arabia had come there and people expected him to come here too but he did not come. When such a big conference takes place, people see that the country is moving forward,” the resident said.
While praising India over the successful Summit, one of the residents also spoke about how Pakistan’s foreign policy had failed their nation.
“I think we have failed in our foreign policy and because of this the G-20 summit is being held in our neighbouring country and heads of state are coming. In the last 5-6 years our economy and the security situation have deteriorated. The world has sidelined us,” he told ANI.
