NEW DELHI: A girl traveling from Noida to Ghaziabad on her scooter was thrown against the base of a flyover pillar after being hit by a car in Noida’s Sector 25 on Saturday.
The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Sector 20 police station, leaving the girl stranded on the elevated structure until two passersby and a police rescue team arrived to assist.
ADCP Manish Kumar Mishra said, “A girl was going from Noida towards Ghaziabad when her scooter met with an accident, and she landed on the pillar’s base. Police and fire rescue teams reached the spot immediately. The girl was rescued safely and sent to the hospital. Two men who were attempting to rescue her were also helped down and taken to the hospital. The vehicle, a WagonR, has been impounded.”
One of the rescuers, Janarul, recounted the moment, saying, “We saw the girl falling and came to her rescue. Police saved us; they called an ambulance.”
The police are investigating the incident and plan to question the girl once her condition stabilizes.
