The hunt is on for a man who took advantage of grieving funeral-goers and was allegedly caught on camera stealing a woman’s purse.
It happened at a funeral home in the southeast Melbourne suburb of Glen Waverley on November 29.
CCTV shows it was about 3.15pm when the man attended the funeral home as the funeral procession made its way outside.
He entered the chapel before finding a woman’s clutch purse, which detectives have been told was then tucked into the man’s jacket before he leaves the scene.
Victoria Police are now trying to track down a man to assist with their inquiries.
“He is described as being aged between 25-35 years old and perceived to be of Asian appearance,” a police spokesperson said.
“He was seen wearing a black hooded jumper, a blue denim jacket, light grey jeans, and white shoes.
