KOLKATA: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee expressed gratitude to all INDIA bloc politicians who reposed faith in her to lead the opposition coalition, her statement coinciding with TMC reminding Congress that coalition (leadership) was “not always about maths, but popularity”.
“I am grateful to everyonewho have shown me respect,” she said after inspecting an under-construction Jagannath temple complex in Digha, East Midnapore. “I wish everyone well, may INDIA prosper. Today, I want to wish everyone on behalf of our Jagannath Temple”, she said, adding that it would be thrown open on April 30 next year.
‘Centre must bring back Indians from B’desh’
: Banerjee called on Union govt to take urgent action to bring back Indian citizens who may be stranded in Bangladesh. “Union govt must act. It should bring back those who want to return to India,” Banerjee said.
