NEW DELHI: A police official reported that a helicopter pilot sustained injuries when the aircraft tilted during an attempted landing on a temporary helipad in Mahad, Raigad district, Maharashtra, at approximately 9:30 am on Friday.
The helicopter was intended to pick up Sushma Andhare, a leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), to a public rally for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred as the pilot was trying to land the helicopter on the makeshift helipad. The tilting of the aircraft not only caused injuries to the pilot but also resulted in damage to the helicopter’s rotor blades.
