NEW DELHI: Siddaramaiah on Monday recalled his life in the political arena saying that he had not committed any wrong in the 40 years as a minister. This came as the Karnataka governor granted permission to prosecute the chief minister in the alleged Muda scam.
The state CM who has managed to cultivate a “Mr Clean” image said that in the 40 years of him becoming a minister, there wasn’t a “single black spot” in his career.
“My political life is an open book. I have committed no wrong, will not commit any wrong. Using Raj Bhavan, BJP and JD(S) have hatched a conspiracy. to tarnish my image,” Siddaramaiah said.
The Congress leader on Monday filed a plea in the high court challenging governor Thaawarchand Gehlot’s order.
“We will wage a legal fight also, we will wage a political fight also. I get more ‘josh’ (enthusiasm, passion) during political fights. I have been doing it continuously. I have done it before, doing now and will do in future,” he said.
‘Please check facts’: Siddaramaiah to LoP Ashoka claiming Yediyurappa resigned in 2011
Amid calls of resignation from the Bhartiya Janta Party, Siddaramaiah termed it a “clear conspiracy” by the saffron party and the JD(S) to destablise his government.
He also criticised the state leader of opposition R Ashok for claiming that Yediyurappa resigned in 2011 after then-governor Hansraj Bhardwaj granted prosecution permission.
Urging him to “check facts”, Siddaramaiah claimed that Yediyurappa only resigned after Lokayukta’s report on illegal mining
“Governor Hansraj Bhardwaj granted prosecution permission on January 21, 2011, related to the Rachenahalli denotification scam, supported by 1,600 pages of strong evidence submitted by the petitioners. Despite this, Yediyurappa did not step down as Chief Minister. Mr Ashok, weren’t you the one who questioned back then about the need for Yediyurappa’s resignation? Now, why are you asking for my resignation?,” he said
“Yediyurappa eventually resigned on August 4, 2011, following the submission of the Lokayukta report on illegal mining, led by Justice Santosh Hegde, to the state government and the Governor. The report indicated that illegal mining had caused a Rs 16,500 crore loss to the state’s treasury. Mr Ashok, it’s worth recalling how most of the BJP conspired against Yediyurappa at that time,” he added.

The Muda scam came to light when social activist Snehamayi Krishna lodged a complaint against Siddaramaiah and nine other individuals.
The accusation involves forgery of documents to unlawfully obtain compensation from the Muda.
In this 50:50 ratio scheme, Muda granted 14 sites to Parvathi, Karnataka CM‘s wife, in return for 3 acres and 16 gunts of her undeveloped land, which was utilized to create a residential layout.
