NEW DELHI: The selection committee has decided to retain the same squad for the second Test of the series against Bangladesh.
The second and final Test will commence in Kanpur on Friday.
“The Men’s Selection Committee has retained the same squad for the second Test of the IDFC FIRST Bank Test series against Bangladesh. The second Test will be played in Kanpur from 27th September,” Jay Shah, BCCI honorary secretary, said in a BCCI press release.

Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), R Ashwin, R Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Akash Deep, Jasprit Bumrah, and Yash Dayal.
In the just concluded first Test in Chennai, Ravichandran Ashwin delivered a remarkable performance, taking 6-88, leading India to a dominant 280-run victory within four days.
Bangladesh, aiming for a lofty 515-run victory target, fell short and were bowled out for 234. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto showed some fight with his innings of 82, but Ashwin was the standout Indian bowler. Ravindra Jadeja contributed significantly with figures of 3-58.
