Israeli air defenses on Sunday intercepted a surface-to-surface missile launched from Yemen. The military reported that its Arrow 3 missile defense system neutralized the projectile before it entered Israeli airspace.
Prior to the interception, air raid sirens blared in Eilat, a port city on the Red Sea in southern Israel, prompting residents to seek shelter.
This follows Israeli fighter jets targeting Houthi military positions near Yemen’s Hodeidah port a day earlier. The strikes were in retaliation for a drone, launched by the Iranian-backed group, that struck Tel Aviv.
