Amidst the ongoing political crisis in Himachal Pradesh, leader of opposition Jai Ram Thakur has said that due to the current situation in the state, it seems that it is difficult for the Congress to remain in power. He said that because of infighting, anything can happen in the state. In such a situation, BJP workers should be prepared.
Jai Ram Thakur said this while interacting with media persons during the Tridev Conference in Shimla on Sunday. He said that the Congress government has no moral right to remain in power. He said Congress ministers are running away from the cabinet meeting while some are resigning and the MLAs inside the Assembly are speaking against their own government. He said that in such circumstances, anything can happen in future.
He said that this time in the Lok Sabha elections, BJP has set a target of gaining lead from every booth of Himachal Pradesh. He said that booth level workers have the biggest contribution in achieving this goal. It is the responsibility of these grassroots workers to take care of people in case they face any inconvenience, to make them aware of the schemes of the Central Government and to ensure that their benefits are easily available to all.
BJP state spokesperson Sandeepani Bhardwaj said that the Chief Minister’s statement that 80 percent of the Congress is together and in the remaining 20 percent also some people are angry over small things, clearly shows that there is discord between the Congress party and the government. He said that there is factionalism. Also, it is indecent to repeatedly Congress MLAs black snakes.
He said that security has been tightened around two Congress MLAs Nandlal and Mohan Lal Brakta and they have been given four plus security, in which one Havildar and four constables will be there, everyone is not able to understand what such a situation has arisen that security of select MLAs was beefed up.
He said that efforts are being made to influence the MLAs in their favour by giving them a place in the government. He said that there is also a possibility that the Sukhu government is preparing to crown more people for damage control. A number of chairpersons and vice-chairpersons are to be appointed in a dozen corporation-boards and autonomous institutions. For this, a list of dissidents and position seekers is being prepared, he claimed.
He claimed that names of four MLAs are included in this list. These three are from the parliamentary constituencies of Kangra, Hamirpur and Mandi, he added.
