The mother of alleged murderer Beau Lamarre-Condon took a neighbourhood dispute to court where a Sydney cafe owner was ordered to pay her $1210, it can be revealed.
Coleen Lamarre took her Balmain nextdoor neighbour Courtney Bracks to the NSW Land and Environment Court court in 2021 over a eucalyptus tree.
Court documents reveal the former NSW Police employee claimed the tree had damaged both the Lamarre family home and her car.
The Lamarre’s reside in the affluent Sydney suburb of Balmain. The house on Waite Avenue was searched multiple times throughout the murder investigation.
Ms Bracks told the court she had “never received any complaints” from either Ms Lamarre or Brett Smith – who both own the property – before the matter was taken to court.
Ms Brack is the owner and chef of two popular venues – Ciao Thyme and Café Viva – in Darling St at Balmain.
“Since Brett Smith and Coleen Lamarre became the owners … there was very little effort to contact me in relation to their claim,” she told the NSW Land and Environment Court.
Ms Bracks was ordered to remove the tree and pay the pair $1210 in damage costs.
“Ms Lamarre and Mr Smith seek compensation of $1210,” Acting Commissioner David Galwey ruled in the case.
“The damage was readily foreseeable and preventable. It is reasonable that Ms Bracks pays the quoted amount, or the actual cost of repairs should it turn out to be a lesser amount.”
Another neighbour also issued an application against Ms Brack, however, was denied any compensation for the alleged damages to his home.
The Lamarres grew up in Grays Point in Sydney’s south, with Coleen moving to Balmain in 2018 after both Beau and his little sister Jamila left high school. It is believed Beau was staying with his mother when the alleged murders occurred.
Colleen Lamarre, Mr Smith and Lamarre’s family members are not accused of any wrongdoing or involvement in the allegations against Beau Lamarre-Condon.
Detectives first scoured the Waite Street residence last Thursday night about 11:30pm – about 48 hours after the bloodied possessions of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies were found dumped in a skip bin in Cronulla.
The road was closed off by police tape with vision from the scene capturing officers walking out of the home with large brown paper bags.
