NEW DELHI: A land bridge was washed away by floods amid heavy rain in Kanniyakumari, Tamil Nadu on Wednesday amid heavy rainfall in the state.
The Mothiramalai-Kuttiyar land bridge was destroyed following heavy rains in the Western Ghats region.
Bus service to more than 15 hill villages, including Kallar and Thachamalai, was cut off.
Similarly, tourists were not allowed to take a dip at Thirparappu Waterfalls due to a flood-like situation.
The weather department has issued warnings for the southern regions of Tamil Nadu and districts in the Western Ghats.
