CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: A major fire at a hand glove manufacturing company in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, claimed the lives of at least six individuals on Sunday. The incident occurred in the early hours at the factory located in the Waluj MIDC area, with the blaze erupting around 02:15 am as reported by Fire department officials.
Upon receiving a distress call at 2:15 a.m.responders found the entire factory engulfed in flames. Local residents informed them of six people trapped inside. Mohan Mungse, a fire officer, stated, “Our officers entered and the bodies of six people have been recovered.” The extinguishing process is currently underway.
Earlier reports from locals suggested that five workers were trapped, but later confirmation from the fire department established the death toll at six individuals. According to workers, the company was closed, and they were asleep when the fire broke out.
“Around 10-15 workers were sleeping inside the building when the fire broke out. While some managed to escape, at least five were trapped inside. Dousing operations are still ongoing, and the precise cause of the fire remains undetermined at this point.
