Maruti Suzuki India recently reported its overall sales of 181,343 units sales in September 2023. The brand registers a Year-on-Year (YoY) growth of 2.8% as compared to 176,306 units in the corresponding period last year. Exports for the company reported 22,511 units in September 2023 from 21,403 units in the same period last year.
Domestic sales for September 2023 stood at 153,106 units. Sales to other OEMs reported at 5,726 units. For April-September 2023, the company recorded the total sales of 10,50,085 units against 985,326 units in the same period of last fiscal. Maruti Suzuki surpassed the half-yearly sales mark of 1 million units for the first time.
In the mini segment, the Maruti Suzuki Alto and S-Presso sales declined massively by 65 percent to 10,351 units from 29,574 units in September 2022. The sales of the compact segment, which includes Baleno, Ignis, Swift, Celerio, Tour S, WagonR, and Dzire declined to 68,552 units in September 2023 from 72,176 units in the year-ago period.
Coming to the Utility Vehicle segment, including the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, S-Cross and XL6 recorded an impressive sales growth of 82% with 59,271 units in September 2023 as opposed to 32,574 units in the same period the previous year.
