AGRA: A contractual teacher at Government Inter College, Mathura, has been accused of sexually harassing a 15-year-old Dalit Class IX student.
The incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed in the classroom, with 51-second footage surfacing on social media. In the footage, Govind is seen flashing the female student and trying to catch hold of her to allegedly sexually assault her.
The incident allegedly took place on Monday after school got over and the teacher aked her to stay back.
On Wednesday, the girl told police that Govind threatened her against reporting the incident. A case has been registered against Govind, who is on the run. “The teacher hurled castist slurs as I escaped from his grasp and screamed for help. He threatened to pour acid on me and kill my family members.
He sexually assaulted me before I somehow managed to escape and informed my family,” she said. ASP Trigun Bisen said, “An FIR has been registered under several IPC sections Sections of the POCSO Act and the SC/ST Act. Multiple teams have been tasked to arrest him.”
