A gunman is on the run after an alleged shooting rocked a quiet suburb in western Sydney.
Police were called to Myall Street, Merrylands, following reports of an alleged shooting about 10pm on Tuesday.
On arrival, officers identified that several shots were allegedly fired from a light-coloured vehicle at the time of incident.
No one was injured during the incident.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident has commenced.
A short time later, officers were called to Bennett Street in Bass Hill following reports a car was on fire.
On arrival, detectives located a white Hyundai hatchback “well alight”.
Firefighters extinguished the fire a short time later and it is believed no one was in the vehicle at the time of incident.
Police are investigating whether the two incidents are linked.
